Larry Long will be performing a solo concer on July 12th, Saturday, at 7 pm for the exhibit opening of the 90th Anniversary of the 1935 Flour City Ornamental Iron Strike. This exhibit and concert is dedicated to the courage of those workers who fought for better pay, an 8-hour workday, and union recognition. The workers held firm and won on pay and hours, but the employer refused to recognise the union. During the course of this strike two two innocent bystanders were killed by police, and 32 people injured. It’s of interest to note that this exhibit and opening concert by Larry is being held at the exact location of the Flour City Ornamental Works, which is now called the Ivy Building.
